So year 7 quests are a doozy - requiring runs through The Rift, Draigoch, Ost Dunhoth, and Tower of Orthanc.

Is there any interest in running through these instances for those of us who want to do these quests? Maybe also knock some deeds out while we're at it?

Joel:

I'm stuck on Draigoch myself, but would be happy to help with the others.

I'm planning to do these once I reach that part of the chain. I'm currently on year 5. I've led raids of all these except rift in the past, so I can lead them if necessary, or just tag along if someone else wants to lead. I don't think you have to actually complete the raids in any case, you just have to do an emote to the last boss. I think it would be fun to complete the raids for nostalgia anyway, though. If you'd like to join me, let me know what time you would be available.

I'm on year 8 of the travels quests, but have years 3-8 of tales and trifles still. I would love to come on any of the group runs, just let me know when.

I know you don't have to complete the raids, but like Alifast said, it'd be fun to do.

Particularly since I've never fully done Barad Guldur, Ost Dunhoth, Tower of Orthanc...

I will be interested when I get there. Still on year 3. Since my two toons mostly soloed until I joined RK, I haven't done most of these instances. Learning them on the fly - which is fun. :-)

The troll is doing me in on the Tower of Orthanc instance right now.

Let me know if I am on, I can help you with these.

Good luck

I'm available to help out for any of these if you see me online.

I was able to duo most of these except for Draigoch and OD Durin's Bane because they require 6 people for the instance.

I'm just going to start putting things on the schedule when I'm available. Tues-Thurs around 7 pm would work for me. If you can't make that time, let me know and I can adjust. Or anyone is free to schedule their own events, as well. We can do whatever people need. Some of these have prerequisites to unlock them, so please make sure they are unlocked before the run, if possible.

Unfortunately, I work until then during the week. I do love the initiative though. :)

I now have Year 8 Anniversary quests. Like Joel, I will not be home from work by 7pm game time. Heck, I am lucky if I am home by 7pm local time which is 10pm game time.

So, if by chance your are still running when I get home, I can check in and see if you have an open spot or not.

Have fun on the runs!

Is this something we could schedule for a Thursday lower level raid night? I know there would be quite a few 105s to make it less challenging but some of us haven't done them before either. :) Or Sunday after RTs? I know we have other kinnies not on the website who would like to get these done.

That would be ideal, I think. Maybe work with San to incorporate it for SKoT after RTs Sunday...

Edit: Spoke with San, and he seemed alright with it. Given that there will be quite a bit of folks on Sunday nights for RT, it shouldn't be an issue to get some of these runs done. Especially since we don't have to do them at level cap :)

Sorry to anyone who was planning to come on Tuesday. I crashed on my couch after work and didn't wake up until three hours later. I don't know if I'll be available for the Thursday or Sunday night runs, but I'll throw out some fliers when I'm on to see if anyone wants to join me.

Thanks to some great kin runs yesterday/last night, and some soloing skills, I have all but the Lieutenant of Dol Guldur done. Sadly, I cannot solo my way to him, so will need some help on that.

I got it all done thanks to Rylleth and others. I am willing to help out if needed still, because those were a pain in the you-know-where.

I have a spreadsheet of all the anniversary quests listed from Year 1 to Year 10. There are 379 lines of quests - note, some quests take multiple lines as there are more than one place you can complete the quests, like the Year 6 quest to /pat normal animals. But still, lots of things to do.

That said, I have about 114 lines of quests to do yet, unfortunately, many of them are instances I have never seen before since I pretty much soloed both Nenro and Pylo up until a few years ago when I joined RK and started doing fellowship instances.

So, I am available to help and get some of these done. One I have failed to do is The Foundry instance. The 2nd boss fight is a nasty troll that one-shot Nenro and the in my second attempt threw him into the lava. Ouch! One fun thing about doing some of these instances is since I haven't done them before and I am not reading up on them before hand, I am discovering on the fly what is required... but this is a bit frustrating at times.

Anyways, let me know if I can help, Nenro

I'm sure you all have seen this, but here is a great guide to all 10 weeks worth of quests, including the capstone quest involving the slips of paper:

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not, if it has then consider this a reminder:

Hang on to those scraps of papers. They're needed for a hidden puzzle after you have completed all 10 years - in other words just when you think all is completed those scraps of paper are needed for a further activity - there is no pointer or vector - one simply needs them and one has to sort of miraculously work out what they are for.

But not all is lost in the event that you discarded them - the LOTRO forums will assist you if you need some hints.

It is my opinion that this very last part of the Scavenger Hunt makes it sort of worth while after all. (I don't want to say any more in case of spoilers notwithstanding that like a numbnut I did let it slip in kinchat the other day for which I honestly do apologise if any got the sense of it)
Another one bites the dust...
