I had written a short article about what it was and how to install it, and how to fix two locations which were off. I lost the post before I could save it. So... here is just the skinny of it.

You can find the new patch and instructions on how to install it at lotrointerface.com.

On lotro-wiki, there is a list of coordinates which is what the patch is based on. In addition, there is a map showing the RT locations. However, two location in the map are not reflected properly in the patch - the coordinates are off. And the patch does not show a 7th possible location in the eastern most part of the zone that is shown in the map. (Is this really an RT location that the lotro-wiki author missed, as a consequence, the patch author did not include?)

The map:

You need to update "MapData.lua" to fix these two locations, and add the missing(?) location.

ORIGINAL PATCH FILE "MapData.lua", just The Wastes portion.

WastesCoords = Coords(-26.1, -17.0, -41.5, 3.5);
mapdata["The Wastes"]={};
mapdata["The Wastesc"] = WastesCoords;
mapdata["The Wastes"]["37.3S 14.6W"] = WastesCoords(-37.3, -14.6);
mapdata["The Wastes"]["35.0S, 12.3W"] = WastesCoords(-35.0, -12.3);
mapdata["The Wastes"]["34.3S, 11.6W"] = WastesCoords(-34.3, -11.6);
mapdata["The Wastes"]["33.3S, 8.2W"] = WastesCoords(-33.3, -8.2);
mapdata["The Wastes"]["32.5S, 0.6E"] = WastesCoords(-32.5, 0.6);
mapdata["The Wastes"]["30.5S, 3.5W"] = WastesCoords(-30.5, -3.5);

MY PATCHES TO THE PATCH FILE MapData.lua

WastesCoords = Coords(-26.1, -17.0, -41.5, 3.5);
mapdata["The Wastes"]={};
mapdata["The Wastesc"] = WastesCoords;
mapdata["The Wastes"]["37.3S 14.6W"] = WastesCoords(-37.3, -14.6);
mapdata["The Wastes"]["36.0S, 12.4W"] = WastesCoords(-36.0, -12.4);
mapdata["The Wastes"]["34.3S, 11.6W"] = WastesCoords(-34.3, -11.6);
mapdata["The Wastes"]["33.3S, 8.2W"] = WastesCoords(-33.3, -8.2);
mapdata["The Wastes"]["32.5S, 0.8E"] = WastesCoords(-32.5, 0.8);
mapdata["The Wastes"]["34.2S, 2.2E"] = WastesCoords(-34.2, 2.2);
mapdata["The Wastes"]["28.7S, 2.7W"] = WastesCoords(-28.7, -2.7);

When you go to edit MapData.lua, right click on the file and select Edit. When you are done, Save. Then within the LOTRO client unload RTPlugin, and then load it to get the new patches. (Actually, just copy these changes from this forum post and past over the same part of the lua file, instead of typing them in.)

very nice nenro. i was hoping there was an add-on or patch for this mod.

since i am already running a customized MapData.lua file, i did copy the three other files in the patch and simply added your text. :)

Your comment about already having a patched MapData.lua file, reminded me that I had previously added three missed RT locations. After checking...

The patch did catch the earlier three misses.... however, one of the three is commented out because coordinate-wise it is close to another one in Forochel. They are somewhat close, but the one commented out is on the island, not the mainland, and indeed we did find RTs in both places. When I scouted Forochel time before last, I was pulling what little hair I have left, from the side of my head, trying to figure out where the missing RT was until I rechecked lotrointerface and the comments for RTPlugin.

So uncomment (i.e., remove the "--") and the text at the end of the line so this RT location shows on the map.

In the file MapData.lua under the Forochel RT coordinate locations, you will see a line that looks like this:
"--mapdata["Forochel"]["8.1N 76.7W"] = ForochelCoords(8.1, -76.7); -- probably the same as the one above"

make it look like this:
"mapdata["Forochel"]["8.1N 76.7W"] = ForochelCoords(8.1, -76.7);"
